The Sony LinkBuds Clip are open-back wireless earbuds designed for listening to music, podcasts, and calls without isolating yourself from your surroundings. Their clip-on design fits around the ear without blocking the ear canal, allowing you to hold conversations and hear announcements or street sounds.

Its lightweight design and included air-cushioned ear pads help achieve a comfortable and stable fit during work, commuting, or sports activities.

Open design and comfort

The open-back design avoids the pressure typically associated with earbuds inserted into the ear canal. Each unit weighs approximately 6.4 grams and features a rounded shape designed to fit different ear shapes.

The adjustable pads allow you to modify the clip's position for a more secure fit. This configuration makes it easy to use them for extended periods without losing awareness of your surroundings.

Listening modes

The headphones incorporate three listening modes that can be switched using touch controls:

• Standard Mode: provides balanced playback for music and everyday content.

• Voice reinforcement: highlights voices in podcasts, videos, and calls when there is background noise.

• Sound leakage reduction: modifies certain frequencies to limit the sound that nearby people can hear.

Leakage reduction mode should not be confused with active noise cancellation. This model deliberately maintains an open design and does not incorporate ANC to isolate the user from the environment .

Sound quality

Its 10mm driver units offer a frequency response of 20Hz to 20,000Hz via Bluetooth. DSEE technology recovers some of the detail lost in compressed audio files.

The Sony Sound Connect app allows you to use a ten-band equalizer , customize controls, and access features such as 360 Reality Audio, equalization setting search, and listening adapted to different situations.

Calls

Precise Voice Pickup technology combines two microphones, AI-powered signal processing, and a bone conduction sensor to capture voice with greater clarity.

The system reduces ambient noise during calls to make voices more intelligible. This noise reduction primarily applies to the microphone and does not constitute active noise cancellation for music playback.

Battery and charging

The earbuds offer up to 9 hours of playback on a single charge. The charging case adds approximately 28 additional hours, for a combined maximum of 37 hours .

Fast charging provides approximately one hour of playback with just three minutes of charging . The earbuds take around 1.5 hours to fully charge, while charging both the earbuds and the charging case together takes approximately three hours.

Connectivity

The Bluetooth 5.3 connection offers an approximate range of 10 meters and is compatible with the SBC and AAC codecs. Multipoint connectivity allows the headphones to be paired with two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

They are also compatible with Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, and the Sony Sound Connect app for compatible mobile devices.

Endurance

The headphones are IPX4 certified, so they can withstand splashes of water and sweat during everyday or sports use.

The IPX4 certification applies only to the earbuds. The charging case is not waterproof , and any moisture on the earbuds should be dried before placing them inside.
